Forlì
Forlì ( ; ; ; ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) and city in Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy, and is, together with Cesena, the capital of the Province of Forlì-Cesena.Situated in the Romagna plain along the Via Emilia, east of the Montone river, Forlì originated as the Roman settlement of ''Forum Livii''. Throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance it developed as a significant political and cultural centre in the region, a legacy still reflected in its historic urban fabric and architectural heritage.
Today, Forlì remains an important agricultural and commercial hub, benefiting from the productivity of its surrounding countryside and its strategic position along a major historic route. The city is also noted for its cultural and artistic heritage, and as the birthplace of figures such as the painters Melozzo da Forlì and Marco Palmezzano, the humanist historian Flavio Biondo, and the physicians Geronimo Mercuriali and Giovanni Battista Morgagni.
The Forlì campus of the University of Bologna hosts programmes in economics, engineering, political science, and medicine, as well as the School of Languages and Translation (SSLMIT), one of Italy’s leading institutions for interpreter and translator training. Provided by Wikipedia
